GREAT news

I just woke from a 4 hr nap! Around 5 this afternoon, 3 different pediatricians who had not consulted each other called us with the same conclusion. All three believed that Reagan's blood sample had been contaminated at the time of her draw, or in the lab, and all three believed that she did not have a blood bacteria. The pediatrician at St. Joseph's ER, (who, incidentally, has been more involved with us than our own pediatrician) consulted a pediatric infectious disease specialist who also concurred with him that Reagan's does not appear to have a blood infection. This is such amazing news. So, we did not have to go to the ER for more poking and we can rest peacefully that she is not in danger.

It is hard to explain the swing--last night the ER telling us to rush there for an immediate & powerful antibiotic and to brace ourselves for Listeria and Meningitis and spinal taps and admittance to the hospital to today, oops, the blood looks fine. Don't get me wrong. I'm not going to complain about such fantastic news.

After going to dinner, I fell asleep in the car on the way home. And climbed in bed a little after 6. I have been so unable to rest and relinquish, and now I feel such a crash in my adrenaline that I could sleep for days.

Anyway, I just want to thank you all for praying. We are really overwhelmed.

Tomorrow the ER doc will call again to confirm the growth of the culture at day 4, and he believes we'll know for SURE at that time that it was a contamination. what a saga. but God be the glory!

Praise God for the great news. What an emotional rollercoaster for you. It's so hard to see our little ones so sick.

What a reminder, too, that doctors are not infallible.

I'm assuming/hoping that your blog silence is just because you are catching up on all of the missed rest and not because there is any more action going on.
